saturday's outing

Mr. Wan is from China. He is really neat...such a simple man. Truly, he is one of the nicest men I've ever met. He has been working at Merial in Gainesville this month, so Shane invited him to spend the day with us. We wanted to show him North Georgia's hot spots.
The kids learned some new Chinese words (that they LOVED!) and Mr. Wan was even kind enough to sing Happy Birthday to our birthday buddies, Will & Charlie.
We went to Nora Mill to see how they make the grain, fed the fish, toured the big town of Helen, and went hiking at Anna Ruby Falls. It truly was such a neat day.
The picture of Davis on the bench was hysterical. He hiked a long way up all by himself...unlike little sister. He got to the top and almost cried because he thought we were at Minihaha Falls. He loved it there because he can cross the river & throw rocks. Much disappointment for our little hiker. He recovered when we told him we were heading out for lunch!
